Perekond Kruusi erakogu näitus „Ruum"

Vaal galerii jätkab erakogude tutvustamise sarja ning avab näituse „Ruum” perekond Kruusi kogust. „Ruum” avatakse reedel, 11. septembril kell 18 ning jääb avatuks kuni 10. oktoobrini, T–R 12–18, L 12–16.

Epp ja Martin Kruus kirjeldavad oma valikuid nii: „Avastasime kunstiruumi eelmisel sajandil, 80ndate lõpus tänu Kunstihoone Kevadnäitustele, mil algas ka meie teadlikum kunsti märkamine. Enim köitis tolleaegne erinevates variatsioonides abstraktsionism – sümbolistlik, minimalistlik, valguse, värvi ja ruumi maagia. Sellest tulenes ka näituse teema ja pealkiri, kus hargnevad seosed tehisruumi ja looduse vahel otsaga universumini välja. Keskel on inimene, kelle peakene omakorda genereerib veel hulga psühholoogilisi, mõtte-, väärtus- jne ruume. Nendes ruumides, nii füüsilistes kui mõttelistes, loob kunst korda ja selgust, pakub rõõmu ja rahuldust.

Aktiivsem kogumine on arenenud viimase kümne aasta jooksul. Lisandud on teisi stiile,
nii kaasaegset kui vanemat kunsti, ka välismaistelt autoritelt. Nende vahel seoseid luues saab üha avastada ja oma isiklikku kunstiruumi aina suuremaks kasvatada. See on huvitav ja kaunis, kuid ka vaba mõtet eviv maailm, kuhu ikka ja jälle hea meelega sisse astume.”

Epp ja Martin Kruus soovivad näitusega esile tõsta nendele olulist osa Eesti kunstist. Ühtlasi jagada ka erakoguja kogemust, mis algab pigem intuitiivselt ja isiklikust lähenemisest, kuid arenedes suhestub üha rohkem kunstituru ning institutsioonide reeglite ja teadmistega.

„Tahame anda oma panuse Eesti kunsti tutvustamisele nii kodus kui rahvusvahelisel areenil. Neid kontakte ja seoseid ei saa Eesti jaoks kunagi liiga palju olema.”

The Kruus Family’s Private Collection Exhibition

Vaal Gallery continues its series introducing private art collections with the exhibition “Room”, drawn from the collection of the Kruus family. The exhibition opens on Friday, 11th of September at 6 pm and will remain open until 10th of October, Tuesday–Friday 12–6 pm and Saturday 12–4 pm.

Epp and Martin Kruus describe their selection: “We discovered the world of art in the late 1980s, through the Spring Exhibitions at the Tallinn Art Hall, which was also when we began to take a more conscious interest in art. What fascinated us most at the time was abstractionism in its various forms – symbolism, minimalism, and the magic of light, colour and space. This led to the theme and title of this exhibition, in which connections unfold between artificial space and nature, extending all the way to the universe. At the centre is the human being, whose mind in turn generates a multitude of psychological, intellectual, value-based rooms. Within these spaces, both physical and mental, art creates order and clarity, offering joy and fulfilment.

Our collecting became more active over the past decade. Other styles have been added, including both contemporary and classical art, as well as works by international artists. By creating connections between them, we can continue to discover new aspects and expand our personal art space. It is a fascinating and beautiful world, one that also leaves room for free thought, and one we are always happy to step into again and again.”

With the exhibition, Epp and Martin Kruus wish to highlight a part of Estonian art that is important to them. At the same time, they want to share the experience of collecting art privately, which begins with a more intuitive and personal approach, but as it develops, becomes increasingly connected to the art market and the conventions and knowledge of art institutions.

“We want to contribute to introducing Estonian art both at home and on the international stage. There can never be too many of these contacts and connections for Estonia.”
